when my mom was shrieking in the kitchen, just last week, i blocked my ears and pretended not to have heard anything.unfortunately, she walked into my room...and broke the news to me.HO! dad just had to text her at a crucial time when i was concentrating on A maths.i've already told the following people, in order, about it.josephlynette pei shan, wenya, see voon, michelle, victor, cuthbertgrace, wailengpin chengtuck wengaishahadelestephanieshahirahaaronsufen...well, if you haven't been notified, it's nothing, really.it's just...my family's application for canadian immigration has been...APPROVED.there. i said it.i'll be leaving for Alberta, Canada, by june 2010.so, another shot at life, new environment, better job prospects, new education, new people, new house, new food.i had always craved for adventure, didn't I? now it's staring at me right in the eyes.then why am i feeling a sense of dread?i'm already homesick, even though i'm still at home.Singapore has been, and probably would be my homeland. really. i grew up and lived here for 15 years. 15 unregrettable years.i have met amazing, friendly people, tried amazing variety of food, stayed in a spacious flat conveniently located near the mall, church, bus interchange, mrt...you know, i'm like, counting my blessings right now *sniff*and the weather too. right amount of rain and shine. (mom said temperatures in canada can go as low as negative 40 degrees ??!!!)and i am so happy to say that i can walk around the streets at night without fear of being robbed. the crime rate is low- and there is considerable peace and harmony.i'd say, it's another chance at life. and i shouldn't waste it :)know what i'm gonna do there? learn driving and get a license (at 16), adopt a pet cat (17) go college (17-18), go on car road trips with my cousins- no parents (at 19), travel back to singapore (19-20)i have to go to the IR someday...and try first hand on gambling. of course, i didn't tell my mom that, haha.i think one of the advantages of migrating to a big country is that you can put your vehicle to use! driving around expressways to a far destination and sightsee...wow. coniferous snowy white trees, autumn red leaves, crystal clear blue lakes, cozy shops with chimmneys in provinces, ski lodges, evergreen hills- in the summer! i can't see those in singapore.i'm going JC. my mind's got plan and the aproaches are all set. guess pauline's growing up now, huh? i'm ready to take on the world. first, battle O levels.
